Intelligence Bureau (IB) is a government organization formed in 1887. Their headquarters is situtated in New Delhi, India.
The motto of this organization is “Always Alert”. This is the organization or agency who focuses on country internal security. The recent director of intelligence bureau is Arvind Kumar, who took over from Rajiv jain on 26 June 2019.
The main objective of this organization is protection of india internally and also execute counter-intelligence tasks.
Every year, Intelligence bureau or ib acio exam releases various job notifications for different kinds of posts.
In December 2020, after pandemic, finally IB acio exam 2020 released job notification for 2,000 vacancies of ACIO-II/ Exe posts. These vacancies are of different numbers for different categories including UR, EWS, OBC, SC, ST.
989 vacancies for General category, 113 vacancies for EWS, 417 vacancies for OBC, 360 vacancies for SC and 121 vacancies for ST. The selection for these posts will be based on the performance of candidate in exam.

The Entrance Exam include 3 stages – Tier-I, Tier-II & Tier-III
This is Objective type paper and the ib acio syllabus include General awareness, Quantitative aptitude, Numerical ability & Reasoning, English language and General studies. The paper will be of total 100 marks for 1 hour only.
This is Descriptive based paper, which include Essay of 30 marks and English comprehension & Precis writing is of 20 marks. So, the total marks will be given is 50 marks for 1 hour only.
This is interview stage and the interview will be of 100 marks.
Strategy to clear Tier-I
This stage is the test of objective type questions from the subjects includes – General awareness, Quantitative aptitude, Analytical ability & Reasoning, English language.
To score high in this section, you have to know all latest current affairs, all general knowledge about each and every topic.
There are various books, which help you in this. if you read 6th to 10th class NCERT books (including history, science, polity, geography and economics), it will build your base.
Reading NCERT is the crucial step towards your preparation. There are some other books includes Lucent general knowledge, Kiran publication general awareness objective book, Arihant publications are some good books referred by toppers.
You can also make your own notes for general awareness by using newspaper like The Hindu, The Indian Express, Nav Bharat times etc.
This is very tricy section of the exam. This section demands speed and accuracy. You can do perfect in this section by doing daily practicing.
You need to make a daily habit of doing math with in time, this will improve your speed & accuracy. If your math is weak then you can join coaching centres or take your friends help.
There are various books, which will help you like – Kiran publications, Arihant arithematic, R.D.Sharma, R.S.Aggarwal etc. You can improve your speed, accuracy by solving more numbers of questions in less time.
You can also use alarm clock for this, Set alarm and try to solve more number of questions within given interval of time.
Analytical Ability/ Reasoning
This is very puzzling section of the exam. This section includes questions related to verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
This section basically check your analytical ability to solve the problem. You need speed & accuracy to tackle this section.
The books includes – “A modern approach to verbal” by R.S.Aggarwal & S.chand, “Verbal & Non-verbal analytical reasoning” by Arihant, “Analytical reasoning” by MK Pandey, “Test of reasoning” by Arihant, Kiran publications etc. are some good informative books, you can use to improve your reasoning section.
Most of the section are weak in this section because of their native language. Mostly students does not be able to clear Tier-I stage because of this section.
This section includes objective type questions related to English grammer, reading, comprehension etc.
The books includes – “Objective General English” by S.P. Bakshi, Arihant General English, Lucent General English, Wren & Martin, Word Power Made Easy etc. are some best books to improve English section.

Strategy to clear Tier-II
Like I said before, this section is based on descriptive paper of English language. If you want to score high in this section, you need to be good in English writing.
– Try to make habit of reading one English article daily or you can read English newspaper.
– After reading article or news, try to write that article or news in your own language and finds mistakes and correct them Or you can take your teacher Or friend help to check your article or essay writing.
Various books like “Descriptive English” by S.P.Bakshi, “Descriptive Exam & Interview Guide” by R.Gupta’s Publications are some good books.
Strategy to clear Tier-III
If you score high in Tier-I and Tier-II, it will create good impact on interviewer. So, try to score high in Tier-I & Tier-II and read daily current affairs to update yourself.
